The Rocky Horror Picture Show's 15th Anniversary, "The Master's
Affair" (same title as the 20th) took place on October 20th, 1990,
and was attended by numerous casts, plus featured guests Tim Curry,
Barry Bostwick, Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell,
Meatloaf and Sal Piro.
The event was held on the 20th Century Fox lot, soundstage #14. The
folks at 20th Century Fox are to be highly commended on a simply
stunning night. They made up a facsimile of "The Beacon Theatre", the
opening gates to Frank's Castle (complete with an "Enter at Your Own
Risk" sign), as well as a row of Transylvanian Motorcycles. Inside
was a lavish stage (including those oddly place palm trees with
lights in them during Time Warp), over 2000 seats, and dozens of
hanging chandeliers filled with red light bulbs. The back lot
included free make-up tables, T-shirts, bumper stickers, posters,
buttons; and a "Time Warp" coffin and "Sweet Transvestite" throne for
picture taking.
The event was covered by the media and parts were broadcast on MTV.
Some of our guests for the evening included Jack Nicholson, and Barbi
Benton (who was a virgin, if I remember correctly).
The 15th Anniversary was a truly overwhelming night. It would have
been nice to go to the convention as three separate people. Person #1
would go around, get autographs, take pictures, and do all the fun
stuff. Person #2 would concentrate on his/her peformance for the
evening (I was a Transylvanian :-)). And last, person #3 would simply
sit in a seat and be spellbound by the entire evening.
So, with the intense nature of the evening, not many usable pictures
were taken. These pictures, I believe, were actually taken by
Diana Ung, who played the Kimi Wong Tranny
... you can see her in the pictures. :-)
