So, didja see the little gold-colored
boy running around the theatre last
weekend? Nope, well, ya missed it! Yes,
that's right, we had our own Cupid (Diego, of
course) for our Special Valentine's Day
weekend. Thanks go to Maggie for the
added effort of painting Diego, head-to-toe
in gold paint (don't fret! We have pictures!)
Kinda makes you wonder what they're gonna
do for St. Patrick's Day, doesn't it? If you
*did* miss our Valentine's show, you'd better
have a damned good excuse (and yes, we
want to hear the steamy stories with all the
juicy details!!) You also better be wearing
lingerie tonight because it *is* the last
Saturday of the month, after all.
Slurp . . . ahhhh. We had some new blood on stage for you this month, some expected, some unexpected . . . but that's what makes it fun, right??? For starters, we brought you a brand new Trixie, T.C., who has also performed at our Friday night show in Topanga. We also got us a new Muscle Man, Mark B. is now performing Rocky Horror (with nipple rings, no less!!!) Last, we were treated last week to Alicia's virgin performance (on Saturday's anyway) as the tap-dancing disco-ball, Columbia. We've also got a small truckload of new Transylvanians |
. . . and since I haven't listed them in a while,
here's the last several: Shelly, Emilio, Brian,
Jenna, Indy, Kevin and Michelle. If you
wanted to become a trannie (or other cast
member), don't worry, we're greedy and will
take all we can get. Come see the cast
after the show, if interested!!!
That's right kiddies, a whole world of
them. Where from? Everywhere! We're
holdin' a convention, Rocky Horror's 22nd, to
be exact. Convention dates are June 20th
and 21st, only four short months away. We'll
be featuring casts from around the country
(think of all you'll save on air-fare), including
RHPS Fan Club President, Sal Piro; as well
as a live RHPS-style showing of "Shock
Treatment", the pseudo-sequel to The Rocky
Horror Picture Show. Prices are $25 per
night, or $40 for both nights, so save your
pennies! More details are available in the
lobby!!!
If you look in your back issues of the TT, you might remember that Midnight Insanity occasionally hangs out at Vampiricus, and that once upon a time, the Mistress of the Dark, herself, visited that same club (and we were there on the same night, go figure!) Well, E! Entertainment |
came down with a camera and filmed several
events of the evening. Although I haven't
actually seen the footage yet, reports tell
me that Diego can be seen in the
background, and that there's a shot of
Elvira signing an autograph for me (Bill). If
someone knows when this will be on next,
please let us know!!!
Yup, that's right, Oscar-Winner
Susan Sarandon (aka Janet Weiss, the
Slut), will be a presenter at the 69th (yeah,
like that's an accident) Academy Awards
show. Sarandon is a five-time nominee for
an Academy Award and finally took one
home last year for "Dead Man Walking". Her
pervious nominations include "Atlantic City",
"Thelma and Louise", "Lorenzo's Oil" and "The
Client". The 69th Academy Awards
"Oscarcast" is scheduled to air on Monday,
March 24th at 6:00pm on ABC (Channel 7).
"The pen is mightier than the sword", or so they say . . . I suppose that means we really have someone wielding a whole new sword for us. Blake, one of our long-time lighting dudes has taken over the writing of the weekly programs. Blake takes over for Mark (Eddie/Crim) who has been churning out the weekly programs since mid-1992. We congratulate Blake on his fine efforts (the programs look pretty damn cool!), and hope this will give Mark more time to practice busting out of freezers and dodging Transvestites with big, ummm, hardware. |
Midnight Insanity is planning a group
showing of "Grease", at the Super Saver
Cinemas in Seal Beach. Tentative date
*might* be Friday, March 7th ('cause
Stephanie will be back in town for it), so
contact the cast if you're interested in
joining us!
Midnight Insanity would like to
extend condolences to the Friday Night
Montclair cast, for we are told "Aunt Patti"
Tappan, cast leader from mid-1992 thru
mid-1996 has passed on. She was in Rocky
Horror for five years, doing cast leader work
for four of those years, and was a mainstay
for the Friday Night cast. She was there,
every week, bringing props, lighting, and
whatever else was necessary for the show.
She will be missed.
Midnight insanity would like to thank the Art Theatre Management and crew, for allowing us to perform here *every fucking week*; the Management and crew of the Woodland Hills theatre, same reason; the cookie lady, for bringing us goodies every week; Shorehouse Café, for taking your cold, tired and weary cast after every show and filling us up with non-Denny's food (!!!); and as always, you, our audience, who come down to see us perform *every fucking week*, singing, dancing and, screaming, while Time Warping the night away . . . |
