All Summer Long

Greetings and welcome once again to the Art Theatre for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, safely planted at Midnight, which is about the only decent time to be outdoors these days. We hope you're all enjoying your summer vacation, and we hope you felt the need to shed any constricting pieces of clothing and thus came appropriately dressed for our traditional Lingerie Night!! If you didn't, the cast reserves the right to come by and "adjust" your attire ... you've been warned!!

Rockystock

Since our last issue, we've been a *very* busy cast!! Sunday, June 28th was our annual picnic-in-the-park, more fondly known as: "Rockystock". Now this year, we didn't disrupt any weddings, we did, however, take over the usual stage area, and had Diego set up a bright pink umbrella, and enough music to broadcast to about 1/4 of the park. :-) Seriously, though, we managed to distract a bunch of Medieval role-players who were busy running about brandishing swords and wearing black vinyl pants (which had most of the women and all of the gay men drooling :-)). In as much as we enjoy the darkness of the night, it was nice to spend a bit of time in the sun. Hope to see you there, next time!!

Skinny-Dippin

For those of us who didn't quite get our fill from the many hours spent at Rockystock, part II of the day took place at

Bob's house, as a (if I'm correct) birthday party for both Bob and Shelly. As the title suggests, we made good use of the swimming pool as well as the "Truth or Dare" party that ensued in the back room. While we can't give you full details, we did find out that some of our friends are far more skilled at lap-dancing than previously thought. :-) In the end, it came as no surprise that few, if any of us, had any inhibitions . especially all those guys who showed Bob their penises. :-) It was definitely a better birthday party than *I've* been to in ages...

Freedom

Okay, so things didn't quite stop there . since we had the 4th of July off from the show *anyway*, we decided to make the most of the weekend. Big, big, BIG kudos go to Indy for getting the hotel room (including prime seating and a perfect view of the usual Disneyland fireworks). This party took place in the same hotel as the 22nd Anniversary Convention "The Light in the Darkness", thrown by Midnight Insanity in June 1997. In addition to the immense sound system and multiple movies that Diego brought (yeah, baby!), we saw fit to exercise any number of freedoms that evening. Again, we can't give you full details but, suffice it to say, Phillip went where no man has gone before, Christina went where no woman had gone before. No lap dances, but there *was* significant use of ice cubes, giant pixy-sticks, frosting and glow bracelets. Oddly enough, we made it through the night without any serious incidence with hotel security, despite what we were doing on the balconies.

There goes the Neighborhood

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, we got news that several cast members went down to visit "Oz", a gay club near Knott's Berry Farm, where they were holding a contest for "Mr. and Mrs. White (trailer) Trash". Now ya gotta figure that the folks who are gonna win are the kind who would do *anything* on stage, and, of course, you know that those kind of people are those you'll find in Midnight Insanity!! The winners of the evening were our very own Diego (Crim/Phantom) and the omnipresent Miss Bob (Orange Haired Tranny/Virgin marker!), who teamed up for the evening and put on a show to remember ... something about a chippendale-style dance and Bob getting her tits flashed to the entire audience. Musta been a cool night. Anyway, congrats go to Diego and Bob for landing yet another hallowed award ... you know, the sort of thing you'd put up on your mantle and tell your grandkids about. :-)

Back to the Future

So, for those of you who put up with article after article of things in the past, we now bring you the future of MI. With us being so darned busy this past month, we forgot to plan a theme night. Fear not, as we're working on some cool things in the not-so-distant future. For one, next month we're having "Alien Night". "Alien", being a fairly vague term, anything from the extra- terrestrial, to the "illegal" type. :-) Use your imagination, and join us on August 22nd!!! In September, we'll have "Sexual Fetish Night" (Sept. 12), in which we expect you to come down to the show, dressed to promote your favorite fetishes. In October, we will be bringing back our highly successful "Monster Horror" night, in which we all take on forms of various frightful creatures. Monster Horror night is planned for October

24th. Last, but surely not least, HALLOWEEN IS ON A **SATURDAY** this year ... so plan on being here!! The last time Halloween was on a Saturday, we nearly packed the house so we highly suggest you get here early!! Knowing full well that it's our favorite holiday of the year, we'll have costume contests, prizes, and lots of spooky stuff.

City of Sin

Midnight Insanity is in the midst of creating another one of our trademarked Special Performances for the Rocky Horror convention taking place on October 9th and 10th, in Las Vegas. We hope you'll join us and support your cast, *or*, at least come down and party with us (if you need some persuasion, read the first page again :-)). The Rocky Convention will be held at the Four Queens Hotel in Las Vegas (like, on Fremont street, across the way from the "Topless Girls of Glitter Gulch :-)). Closing Comments

Midnight Insanity would like to thank the Art Theatre Management Management and crew, for allowing us to perform here *every fucking week*; the Shorehouse Café, for giving us a place to crash after the show; Bill, who is celebrating 9 years with Midnight Insanity this month; Bob, for throwing the cool birthday party; Indy, for throwing the cool 4th of July party; Diego, for bringing all that music (and the movies); all the folks who showed up for Rockystock (and to Tracy and Kim for holding our spot); anyone who read this far down :-); the folks responsible for "things to come" (ooohhhh!!); and, of course, all of you, our loving and faithful audience, who come back to see us again and again (and again), *every fucking week*!!!
