As some of you know, the Bawdy Caste has been performing an Annual Show as a
part of Reno's ArTown Festival (http://www.artown.org) in Wingfield Park.
Our show this year is July 3rd and next year will be our 5th Anniversary on
July 14th, 2002.
We are planning a "Mini-Con" of sorts for next year. We almost didn't get
to return for our show last year when the city tried to stop our show. The
fans in reno took to a letter writing campaign and fought for us. They
fought so hard for us that the Bawdy Caste has been guarranteed a show for
as long as they want to continue performing as a part of the Artown
Festival. The fans backed up their dedication by showing up in a force of
approximately 2700 people in the park. There hasn't been an active cast in
Reno since 1989. The Bawdy Caste is the closest thing they've got. We'd
like to pay them back for their fight by giving them a con.
Here's the deal though...
Everything we are slating is going to be directed more at the fas in the
Reno area than those of you within the community.
For example, the costume contest will not be open to anyone associated with
a cast. We hold a contest for the fans at every show and the sponsors are
the judges. They judge by what they like and what they see. Nothing Anal
about it at all. We will however work to include those of you that would
like to judge as well.
We are planning Freaks vs. Fans events though. Looking into locations of
venues for various events to help increase the fun for everyone.
Here's where we need you.
We want to show ST on Friday night (July 12th, 2002). Most of the fans in
Reno have no idea what ST is, let alone have seen it. We want to put
together an "All-Star" Cast, if you will, made up of people within the
community.
We want to show RHPS on Saturday night (July 13th, 2002). We would like to
put together an "All-Star" cast for Rocky as well.
We would also like to open the stage up to other casts that want to perform
pre-shows and other special numbers. Really make it worth the while of the
Reno fans.
We'd also like to have you all help out with every event we plan. Whether
it's trivia, softball, contests, scavenger hunts, etc etc etc.
Both Friday And Saturday events will take place in the hotel. I'm currently
negotiating with a hotel for various things beneficial to the con.
The Annual BC show is in Wingfield Park at 8pm on Sunday night (July 14th,
2002). As of right now, it hasn't been decided how the casting of that show
will be done. It will be be the "official" end of the weekend, and we
understand that not many people can stay that late through the weekend.
Until further notice, it is assumed that it will be an entirely BC show. I
don't make the decisions on it anymore. But I will keep you posted.
I will be working to bring whoever I can to the con, celebrity wise. No
guarrantees as of yet. Some of you may be getting emails from me asking
about how to get in contact with certain people.
We'd like to have the fans in Reno feeling like we all did, if not better,
after FGTH. This is the show that BC looks forward to the most every year.
