Man....here it is 3 days after I got home and I'm still high from this convention. MI, this was a convention that was absolutely terrific. You deserve all the kudos possible for the amount of work that went into planning and everything that occured during it.

It was great to see Patricia Quinn and Bob Simon hanging out with everyone all the time. Having Patricia tell me to hold my Rocky boots up, while spraying them on my patio, so she could take pictures rocked! Bob, flirting with me, even after he found out I was straight, was way cool.
Seeing White Trash Debutants was cool. Even more fun was being in my hotel room with a bunch of people and seeing their drummer having sex with one of their girl singers on the fire escapes! LOL
Costume competition was excellently planned! They had everyone except judges, people photographing for them and competitors leave the room, so judges could not be swayed by a crowd.
I wish to thank MI Rocky for the intense Creation Mask as my award for Best Rocky! I will always honor and cherish it.
Having Patricia Quinn and Bob Simon doing the voices for Riff and Magenta puppets that honored me my David Award for being the most entertaining on the NG "The Biggest Nut on the Net"rocked. I was completely flabbergasted! Thank you to everyone who voted for me, especially since I didn't even know it was the topic! =)
It was great to hang out with old friends and meet new ones.
MI,Sins, WUT......always a pleasure being in the L.A. area. I loved seeing you all again.
Crazed Imaginations, great to finally meet you people.
Byron......wonderful to sit and chat, look forward to debating with you soon, on the NG.=)
Vegas folx, AJTTL, Broadway Bound and Gagged, as usual a pleasure hanging and partying.
Folx from Back East..always good to see you.
Polly Esther, Samantha(Mistress Nico) it was wonderful to meet you.
Bernie..I'm still the dominant Jew!=Þ

Too all my fellow area Rocky folx.....next Bay Area Rockycon will kickass!

AND to all my fellow RHPS Jews...thank you for making this memorable.
Especially those at the picnic when the Rabbis' (unexpectedly) showed up and had me put the t'filin on and do the memorial prayers!

As the euphoria of a wonderful Convention wears off, I find myself back in fucking reality. Dammit, I thought I had left this thing called reality at the bottom of that first shot I did Thursday night! I mean, I don't think I thought about anything for 4 days! I had a wonderful time, and I was feeling so good until tonight.
Maybe its because I'm not on a cast, and I don't get to be part of the Rocky community every Saturday night, but ever since my first Con in Denver I find my self going through what I call "Con Withdrawal" after I get home. Does this happen to anyone else?
Maybe its because I can act differently around people at Cons. Maybe I just miss the attention that I get. Maybe I just miss all of my friends that I only see at Cons. Maybe I'm just a silly 20 year old girl who doesn't get to drink and fuck enough. (and this maybe the lamest post ever, maybe. Ok shoot me in the fucking foot now please!
;-))
I don't know.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for suspending reality for me for a little while. Don't know when I'll see you all next, I don't think I'll be able to go to any more Cons this year.
Keep in touch though.

Love and stuff
~Samantha

Hi All,

Just wanted to say that Ron and I had a wonderful time in CA. We went to San Fran first to visit the wonderful Becky M. and her man Nick. I miss them so much. Then we had a lovely drive down the coast hwy. Then arrived in LA and attend a great con. Every day was better then the next. I was happy to see some friends and meet a bunch of new people. Also I just wanted to say that I have never had a chance to see Bob Simon before this con. I was so happy to finally hear him sing. And it was so wonderful that Pat hung with us the whole time she is a fantastic lady. And seeing Sal is always a treat. We have to fly across the country to see him these days go figure.
I know I'm going to forget a few people but here goes. First off Mark T. you and your staff put on a fabulous con and I also want you to know your wife is lovely. Bill U. and Becky. thank you both and the rest of MI. Jamie and Mark I love you guys and I wish we could have spent more time with you. Richard D. you are too cool and performing with you was the bomb. Say hi to sponge bob for me. Berrnie nice seeing you again and hanging. Larry, Chad and Mike G. fun as always and Larry you still owe Ron $40 : ) Jess F. you are a sweetie and mom too. See you in NYC in a few months. Blake and Sonja nice seeing you again you traitors. You know Sonja we are not all bad.: ) We had a nice conversation with the girls from Colorado on Sun. night by the pool and I'm so sorry for the life of me I can't remember any names but you all are so sweet. Lastly the 2 other NYC cast members that went to the con Ryan and Melanie, even though they both probably will not read this, You guys were a lot of fun to hang with. Ryan is a laugh riot and Mel I just want to say you look just like me darling, why would you want to do that!! : )
As I said I am sure I am forgetting someone but just thanks to all and someday soon I will see you again.

Love and Kisses,

Yeah, so everyone has posted all the good things about the convention. Well you know what? Bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch! Bullshit Bitch Bitch I HATE when BITCH BITCH BITCH. How the fuck BITCH BITCH BITCH waiting bitch bitch bitch PATRICIA QUINN! COMPLAIN MOAN BITCH COSTUME CONTEST!!!! Bitch bitch bitch never going to another MI con again!

Sorry, there seemed to be a big part of my usual post con newsgroup reading missing. Perhaps bthats because the convention ROCKED! MI put on one hell of a con and I truly can say I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Special thanks to Marc, Becky, Marty, Bill, everyone - I had such a great time that by sunday I was honestly considering just having all my stuff shipped to room 209 at the Hollywood Roosevelt and moving there permanently. LA is a very awesome place and I have a blast every time I go there.

I am gonna spout off a few names, they are in no particular order and they are for no particular reason other than to say that I enjoyed hanging out with you at the convention/meeting you at the convention/seeing you breifly/drinking your alcohol/getting a glimpse of you naked: Kate, Sebastian, Nate, Devo, Shannon, Byron, Jen, Sherri, Lori, Carrie, Becky, Candie, Scott, Nico, All of Sins, Sioux, Trish (hope you got home alright), All of Midnight Insanity, Q, Bob Simon, Pat Quinn, Sal, all my castmates at the Home of Happiness (heres to hoping more of us party at cons more often), Berman, Julie Barman, Bobby, all the lovely ladies who were willing to try to get a few extra points by showing me their underwear during the csotume contest, Rob, Brady, my pals from vegas, Ron and Hillary (I owe you a lot more than $40 Ron, I also owe you several really good shots of Scotch) Marc and Jamie, Jessica Feldman and mom, those three girls from Napa that I met at registration, Kelly and Wayne, Ruth, Bruce, Jeff, the list keeps going on and on. And I know I forgot a few names. BUt if you were there and we hung out together. Thank you. The best part about conventions is seeing your friends again and meeting new ones (Oh yeah, and April, I met her at the con - she was cool.)

So I tip my hat to all of you where were there and I sincerely hope to see you all again (Hopefully in Orlando in October - free plug).

Larry.

I've heard alot of positive feedback about the convention in Hollywood. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of the collective MI heart. Just seeing all of you have a good time this past weekend made the work more than worth it. You should have seen your smiles and laughter from our perspective - it was magical, and it almost brought me to tears several times. *sniff*(:

Our tech crew in particular thanks you. You all know how thankless tech is in any venue. We always do what we can to thank tech ourselves, but it's never equal to the hard work they put out. It's wonderful for them to go on the NG and see nothing but praise for their hard work and dedication from people they don't really know too well. I wanted to thank you all for showing them that yes, indeed, it is noticed and appreciated. They needed to hear it from someone outside of their own cast, someone who knows RHPS and how hard it can be.

The other thing is a general thank you from me to the entire family. One of my primary worries was that people wouldn't be able to put their differences aside for one weekend and just pour alcohol down eachothers gullets and party. Bad feelings can ruin a gathering, I've seen it happen that way. This weekend had a strong sense of family and general good vibes not because of anything MI did. You all brought that feeling with you, and honestly you left part of it behind. I still have that feeling right now. It's wonderful!

Can't wait to see you all again! I've always called us a family, and this past weekend you all proved it!

Love,
your sister MIBecky

Dear Becky, Mark, Bill, Steve, Tracy, and the whole MI Family,

I thought the Con was absolutely wonderful and I had an unbelievably great time. I was amazed at the organization and the smoothness of it all, particularly the great tech and prop people (we have no tech at all)...how nice to have slots for props and costumes...it really eased my nerves.

Your pre-show numbers were of Broadway caliber...alot of blood, sweat, and total talent and love shone through. It was much appreciated, and inspiring to many people...to go home and do better things for their audiences.

    Thank you again,
     Katie

Sorry I didn't get to add my thanks earlier. Returning to work sucks big wind.

The one thing I wanted to do personally was to give my deepest thanks to one particular group first and foremost.

I WANT TO GIVE A BIG THANK YOU TO THE MI TECH CREW!!!

Wow. A Herculean task if ever there was one. From what I gathered the crew didn't stop from Wed night through Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to the entire crew for pulling of such a technological, and logistical nightmare. KUDOS!!! KUDOS!! From the assembling, disassembling, transporting, re-transpotring, and overall just making sure everything works in the end. Absolutely amazing. Prop Fox 1 and Prop Fox 2 -- you gals rule!!!

MI Becky, Bill Ung, Mark Tomaino, Thanks for everything. I have never had so much fun at a convention before. I just don't know how through it all, you guys made it looks so easy.

I love going to conventions because you get to see people that you only see once in a while. (Get it!! Hahahah Once in a while! it's a Brad thing!). Mark and Jamie as always a pleasure hanging and shooting the breeze. I love you guys!!!

As always I have fun seeing my fellow Brads. To Bernie Bregman: Next year I'll catch that ball. Farley 1 Brad 0. Duel Duet was the best. Look forward to performing again with you some day. Thanks. P.s. Love those sharks.

I would like to give a special shout out to Jessica Guare from Rich Weirdoes of Vancouver, BC thanks for performing with me. You are simply a joy to perform with and an excellent Janet. See, despite what my wife Hilary says, I do not make all my Janets cry!

Thanks to Katie Greene, Jennifer Langley, Richard Davison, Jessica Feldman, and the Magenta for Creation Scene on Sat. Sorry I cannot remember your name. I think it was Filery -- or -- Hilbert -- or some thing like that.. You guys were the best. It is always fun to get whipped by Jared Yeager while Scott Labrecque watches. Next time Scott get out of your wheel chair and help me! :) Scott and Jared are simply one of the best Franks and Dr Scott's I have ever seen.

In fact, thank you too all the Sat. performers . That was one amazing show. It never ceases to amaze me how people from different areas with different blocking and different philosaphies can come together and do a smashing good job!

To Richard Davidson, and Ryan Burke: Universal studio Rocked!!! When visiting Universal Studios make sure you ask for Preferred Parking.

Shock Treatment is always on top 3 things I like to do. I think I have more fun with Shocky than Rocky. Brad has only 1 basic costume. Just the jacket changes.

Makes for really easy transporting. Having Larry Viezel, Jessica Feldman, Chad, et al really brought back some great memories. Thanks to all that performed.

Especially the cast from Japan. YOU GUYS ARE SIMPLY THE GREATEST!!!

"I have blisters on my fingers!" - from typing too much.

I fly 3,000 plus miles just to hang with my NYC buds. Sonja and Blake (Yes, you guys are still my NYC buds even though you moved.) Ryan, Melanie "That's pronounced dew-vay" Duve, and Sal. Heck. I see more of Sal in other states/countries than I do in NYC. Hehehehe.

The softball game was beyond fun. I couldn't move the next day though. To my Captain, Mike "shitload to 2" Gamsby, we'll get them next year in the East Coast vs. West Coast Stick Ball champion to be held on a Brooklyn street somewhere.

If I left anyone out I am sorry. I had such a great time and it is hard to remember everything. Good luck to the girl from Colorado on her chosen profession. Always be safe!

Good bye and thanks for all the fish.

I'd like to start off by saying "Thank You" to Mark, Becky, Marty, Bill, and everyone else at MI for throwing the best convention I've EVER been to, including the 20th and 25th! I'm still riding an emotional high. There really isn't anything I can add to what's already been said before, by everyone else, but you guys totally rock!

I can't even begin to imagine all of the hard work, dedication, effort, and stress that went into organizing this event - but it is very much appreciated. I only hope that you were not too exhausted to enjoy the fruits of your labors.

The only drawback to the entire weekend was that there were just so many wonderful events going on, it was impossible to do everything. I felt like I needed to be two people at once, just to keep up with all the fun. (Hey, what can I say - I'm a greedy bitch. I want it all!) ;-)

I would also like to thank everyone who was involved in Shock Treatment for making my first ST performance (and my first time onstage, in any capacity, since 1995) so enjoyable and memorable. I do wish I'd had a little more time to rehearse - my timing was off in a few places - but by the time we were finished, all I could think was, "I can't wait to do this again!" Unfortunately, from behind the screen, I wasn't able to watch everyone else's performances - but, HUGE thanks to Lavar, I was able to catch the repeat on videotape. Fabulous job, everyone! If anyone else would like a copy, please email me privately - all I ask is that you cover the cost of the blank tape and shipping. Or, if anyone managed to videotape Bob Simon doing "Wilkomen" (or anything else cool) I would love to swap!

It was wonderful seeing familiar faces again, plus meeting so many new friends. Finally, I can put faces with the names that I've been seeing for so long on the newsgroup. I wish that I'd had more time to get to know everyone better - but there's always next time. Bay area? Vegas? If it's within driving distance, you can bet that I'll be there!

Newsgroups: alt.cult-movies.rocky-horror

Well, it's been a week already, and I think I've almost recovered. I had a blast at the convention. Here are some of the highlights for me:

THURSDAY

Bumping booties with Patricia Quinn to "Groove is in the Heart" (anyone wanna touch my ass??)

FRIDAY

Seeing Fozzie shirtless at the beach (growrr!)

During the awards show, Sylvester the Cat flipping some guy off for suggesting that Tweety Bird could kick his ass.

Walking past Angelyne and thinking, "What a great costume that transvestite is wearing!" -- then realizing it was actually her.

Watching the puppeteers try to follow along with whatever Pat and Bob were saying.

The absolutely stellar performances of everyone during Shock Treatment, most notably Jessica Feldman as Janet -- what an amazing talent! Jessica, you really carried the show and did an awesome, professional job. It was a pleasure to watch you.

SATURDAY

In the ending credits of "A Regular Frankie Fan," the Sins cast was listed as being in Santa Monica, California!

Winning Sal's football jersey in the raffle and having several people tell me they wished they'd won it.

Watching Elvira's Haunted Hills with Elvira. (And the movie was pretty good too...)

Ruth chewing out a security guard for not letting her back in during the costume contest.

Singing Bohemian Rhapsody outside the theater -- thanks, Joseph!

Witnessing Bob Simon's devirginization. (And wishing I could have performed it myself... :op )

Liz S. taking over for a missing Janet - what a pro you are, Liz! :o)

SUNDAY

Getting mooned by Marc at the softball game.

Getting mooned by Kelly at the softball game.

Getting mooned by Bob at the softball game.

At kareoke that night, watching Liz, Scott, and Sonja sing "Hangin' Tough" by New Kids on the Block -- one of the funniest goddamn things I've ever seen in my life.

All in all, it was a wonderful time, and I thank MI immensely for doing an amazing job in putting on this con. This was the third con I have been to and by far the best in terms of planning, organization, and overall good vibes. So well done to everybody at MI -- cast, crew, and administration!

One thing I do regret is not being able to see the costume contest. I know that people work very hard on their costumes, and would like to have them displayed in a manner that everyone at the con can admire and applaud them, not just the judges. There were a few costumes that the general con-goers did not get to see at all because the people had to change into something else right afterwards. It's also fun for the rest of us to know who's entering and in what category, etc. I didn't even know that Normandie and Bernie's sharks had entered until they actually won! :o)

If you're worried about the judges being distracted, maybe you could tell the audience to hold their applause until the end of the category -- for example, do the Columbia judging and then have all the Columbias walk across the stage at once, to thundering applause. Or just simply tell the judges not to be swayed by audience reaction. Anyway, MI, please don't take this the wrong way -- I still think ya'll did an incredible job! It's just that I and several others I talked to would have liked to have seen the costumes being displayed in all their glory. I mean, what's the point of having a costume contest if most people can't see it! :o)

I would like to end this post by saying just how grateful I am to be part of the Rocky community. Going to this convention really drove home to me what an amazing group of people you all are, both my friends and those I haven't even met. For those of you who don't know me, I am not, nor have I ever been on a cast. I am just somebody who has gone to Rocky off and on as an audience member for the past 12 or so years. The very first time I went, with my mom in St. Petersburg, FLA, we were treated with kindness and respect by the St. Pete cast. They came and introduced themselves to us before the show and included us in the festivities. They never made us feel like we were too square or didn't belong, and we both had a great time.

I started going to Rocky occasionally in the So. Cal area. I remember in the beginning, I was too shy to even yell anything out, or make friends, but I still loved going and had a lot of fun at the various theaters I went to, which included the Rialto, Balboa, Montclair, and San Dimas. It wasn't until just this last year that I started going to Sins at the Nuart on a semi-regular basis, and was greeted with open arms and made to feel welcome by the Sins cast. Then I went to MI in Long Beach a couple times and was also treated like a friend there. I remember the first time I met Bill Ung, he gave me a hug. :o)

The overall vibe I felt at this con was one of family and caring. It never ceases to amaze me that every single person I talked to at the con was friendly and easy to talk to. There was not one single person at the con who was rude or condescending to me. I find this is true for the Rocky community in general. I have been involved with various religions and other groups over the years, and I can honestly say that there is no other group where I have felt more accepted for who I am, than the Rocky community. It has also taught me that it's okay to mess up, be silly, and just have a good time with what you've got. Strange that one could get all this from a movie about a transvestite from outer space! :o)

I would like to especially thank the Sins cast for being so warm and welcoming to me this past year -- Jason, Liz, Normandie, Bernie, Felix, Marilynn, Erin, Emily, Ryan, Jared, Scott, Joseph, Gina, Ofer, Amanda, and everyone else I'm forgetting (there's too damn many of you!). You guys have taken me in and made me feel like part of the group -- and I don't even do anything! It's been great hanging with you all at the Nuart and at the cons.

And to everyone else in Rockydom -- you guys have been like a second family to me. You're my freaks, and I love ya!

Anyway, sorry this post is so long, but I guess I had a few things to say. :o)

Thanks again, MI, for a job well done!

Heather

hey everyone, i thought i posted my thanks and memories to this group, but i cant find it so ill do it again! :)

thanks to Midnight Insanity for putting on a kicka ass con (my first! they popped my cherry soooo good!) and for choosing me to play Trixie Saturday night! i only hope that my performance was an enjoyable one...did anyone notice my pixie dust? i forgot to use it in the judging, i was going to fling some of it around a little...also i was going to blow bubbles. but i got all flustered last minute and forgot... i was so proud that i placed second in the contest...the lovely gal who placed first ROCKED! i cant remember her name right now (im sooo bad with names) but if shes reading this or you know her, i have a pic of her me and pat in the lobby. id be happy to get her a copy.

White Trash Debutantes were great! Rhionnan (betty page bangs) spanked me onstage Thursday, hurray for that! Pat Quinn was, as everyone said, a perfect lady and so charming! i had her sign a birthday card for one of the Magentas on my cast...which is tomorrow and we happen to share birthdays (teehee), ill be 29, by the way! Cassandra was great too! what a funny gal!

walking over to Manns Chinese in costume was hilarious!! i couldnt get over these little old hispanic women who wanted there pic taken with ME! i looked like a streetwalker! and also the little kids! i felt kinda...wrong having my pic taken with kids in that get-up! i mean im used to it in my "innocent" fairy garb...but not this one! :) oh and just so ya know, i was "Dark Pixie Trixie". and friday night i was edie sedgewick, not winona ryder or joan jett, which were the two guesses i got.

spending time with my friend Tom made things extra enjoyable! thats rifffffff, in case you wondered. hes an extra special (not in the short bus kinda way either-LOL!) friend and super duper extra sweet! thanks for everything Tom! SMOOCH! thanks for making that 20 block trek to the Larry Flynt building with me! too bad the big guy himself didnt roll out in his gold plated wheelchair so i could sit on his lap for a picture! teehee!

it was great to meet everyone i talked to at Con and im sorry i ddint get to talk to more of you! it was great to meet Larry and the guys from home of happiness (thanks for the invite, guys!), Becky and Mark (and Marks HOTT busty wife!) ;) from MI, the lovely gal who was all over me at the Thursday night party (white sweater wearing naughty girl who left white fuzz all over my black shirt :), Jessica Feldman-so proud of you for your win and performance in ST! (yes, ill mention her even though she didnt mention me in her post :P),

to wrap this up, thanks to everyone who came to con and hopefully ill see you all again! feel free to keep in touch with me anytime!

MUAH!
